My recent trip to Jaisalmer Rajasthan

Hi readers, its me, Moon Doc reporting from Jaisalmer, Rajasthan in India. I know its a long time since I delivered a travel post for you as I was a bit busy in Seattle, USA. But currently I am in a desert state of India and reporting from a Desert Camp.

I have been exploring Jaisalmer for the last 3 days with my New friend Mr Singh. He picked me from Jaipur and from there we travelled in his Toyota (seriously everyone love Toyota in Rajasthan) from Jaipur to his Jaisalmer Desert Camp.

I wasn’t aware of Jaisalmer when I landed in Jaipur airport but when Singh told me that he has started a camp there as Jaisalmer is full of some amazing destinations, food and festivals so I couldn’t stop my self and decided to skip Jodhpur and Pushkar. And here I am in Jaisalmer and have experienced most of the destinations.

So without any delay I just want you people to know that Jaisalmer has 3 most amazing destination which you shouldn’t dare to skip. Check them out.

At Number 1- Don’t stay in a hotel, accommodate in a Camp

Desert camp at jaisalmer

Yes Jaisalmer is a desert city, though its also a walled city but if you want to experience the real joy of Jaisalmer desert and desert safari in Sam Sun Dunes that stay in a Camp, like I have done. The sunset and sunrise of Jaisalmer is something which you can’t explore anywhere in the world. I opted for a morning ride as I am a bit of Yoga freak and packed our backs by 3:30 AM and by 4;00 AM we were on some camels back. (Camels are really funny). From there we went to a Jaisalmer Fort which is amazing but more about that in 2nd point.

Other stuff which I loved about Jaisalmer camps is their cultural dance, local food and camels. Yes mom, I love camels. I wish Obama allows a licence for camels as domestic pets. But he won’t :(

At Number 2- Jaisalmer fort aka Golden fort

As I mentioned above that we opted for a morning desert safari and travelled 40 Kms for just to see the Jaisalmer Fort. You know why? Because is has a treasure which is only visible when the first ray of sunlight touches it.

The walls of the fort is made up of some special bricks, that are yellow in color and simple sparkes like holy cannoli 24 carrot gold. Just check the below picture I look.

jaisalmer fort the gold one

At Number 3- The awesome Gadisar lake

I have never seen anything like this. Its a like which you see in movies like Lords of the rings. The place is simple quite, has some 1000 year old architecture built around it and seriously its a place where you should propose your love. Have a look at the below image man…
